FRANKO CARINO

BIO

“I didn’t want to do what everyone else was doing, so I started to just remix on the fly and creating mash ups on the spot. I never wanted people to hear the same set twice.”

Franko Carino is one of the original groundbreaking electronic musicians in North Florida. Born in Los Angeles, California, he grew up during a pivotal era when synthesizers began shaping modern music. Inspired by his older brother’s love for Depeche Mode and a life-changing moment watching Depeche Mode 101, Franko discovered his passion for electronic music at an early age. By 15, he had received his first keyboard—an E-mu Emax—and quickly began creating his own sounds. After attending his first rave at 16, he became fully immersed in electronic music production and DJ culture.

By age 17, Franko was DJing house parties and guest spots throughout Jacksonville, earning strong reactions for his high-energy sets and improvisational remix style. During his early career, he performed with industrial bands while producing dance music and hip hop, developing his craft through collaborations with local artists and formal study at the Audio Playground Synthesizer Museum and Recording Studio in Orlando.

At 23, he connected with Scott Weiser (Jackal & Hyde), gaining valuable experience in sound design and artistic development. Over the years, Franko has worked with respected musicians and producers including DJ Lethal (Limp Bizkit / House of Pain), Sam Rivers and John Otto (Limp Bizkit), and Terry Balsamo (Evanescence / Cold).

In 2012, Franko became the touring DJ for Limp Bizkit following the departure of DJ Lethal, performing under the persona DJ SK3L3TOR before removing the mask in 2013. Today, he continues to bring his unique blend of electronic, industrial, and hip hop influences to audiences nationwide.
